Privacy Policy

MealMint is operated by Glacier Labs, LLC. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the MealMint app, mealmintapp.com, and our related services. For privacy questions or requests, email help@mealmintapp.com.

Information we collect

  • Account and sign-in information. The app creates a guest account with an account identifier. If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, we receive the identity information that provider makes available, such as your name, email address, profile image, and an authentication token. Apple may provide a private relay email address. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
  • Your recipes and planning information. This includes recipes, imported links and text, photos you choose to upload, cookbooks, favorites, notes, ratings, cooking history, meal plans, grocery lists, and preferences you enter. Preferences can include dietary choices, allergies, disliked ingredients, cooking experience, and meal-planning goals. Dietary information can be sensitive; provide only what you want used for these features.
  • Purchase information. We receive subscription identifiers, purchase and renewal status, and information needed to recognize paid access. The app store processes your payment details; MealMint does not collect your full payment card number.
  • Device and usage information. Services receive information such as IP addresses, device and app details, session identifiers, notification tokens, feature-use events, and error or performance reports. For example, usage events can record that a recipe was viewed or a meal plan was created.
  • Support messages. If you contact us, we receive your email address, the message, and any attachments you send.

How information is used

We use this information to provide recipes and planning features, save and synchronize your library, authenticate accounts, process imports, recognize subscriptions, deliver requested notifications, respond to support requests, diagnose problems, and protect the service against abuse. Guest accounts are still associated with stored data; using the app without Apple or Google sign-in does not mean no information is collected.

Some information is stored on your device, including cached content, preferences, and sign-in credentials. Features such as account synchronization, imports, and generated recipes also send information to our servers. Siri, Shortcuts, and widgets can use the app's shared session and grocery data to carry out your requests.

Service providers and recipe imports

We use other companies to operate MealMint. Depending on the feature and its configuration, these include:

  • Vercel, Supabase, and Cloudflare for hosting, databases, file storage, delivery, and import processing.
  • Apple and Google for the sign-in options you select, and Firebase for app integrity checks and push-notification services.
  • RevenueCat and your app store for subscription processing and access checks.
  • OpenAI, Google Gemini, Cloudflare Workers AI, and Edamam for applicable recipe extraction, transcription, image generation, and nutrition features. Recipe text, ingredient details, selected images, or media from an imported link may be sent to a provider to perform that task.
  • PostHog and Sentry for usage analytics, diagnostics, and performance monitoring. Analytics events can be linked to your MealMint account identifier. Where enabled on the website, diagnostics can include a replay of interactions around an error.

An import may retrieve material from the website or platform you identify. That service can receive the network request and has its own policies. Only submit material you have permission to use, and avoid including unrelated personal information in recipe photos, text, or links.

Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their services and any accounts you maintain with them are also subject to their own terms and privacy notices. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or needed to investigate misuse or protect people's rights and safety.

Shared recipes and photos

When you enable sharing for a recipe, anyone with its link can view the shared recipe. Recipients may copy or save it. Turning off sharing cannot remove copies already saved by someone else.

Photos are delivered through file URLs. Anyone who obtains a photo's URL may be able to view that file, even if the recipe is not shared. Do not upload images containing information you do not want accessible in this way.

Cookies, local storage, and permissions

The website and app use storage for sessions, preferences, and functionality. When website analytics or diagnostics are enabled, their providers may also use cookies or similar identifiers. You can manage website storage through your browser; clearing it may reset preferences or sessions. MealMint does not currently provide a separate in-app analytics opt-out switch. Contact us with a privacy request or question about analytics associated with your account.

You control camera, photo, notification, and other device permissions in your device settings. Declining or withdrawing a permission can limit the related feature. Free website tools calculate their results in your browser, although ordinary website usage and diagnostic information may still be collected.

Retention and deletion

Account and library information is retained to provide the features you use. Retention also depends on the type of information and operational, security, support, and legal needs; there is not one fixed deletion period for every category.

You can delete your account from the app's profile settings. This removes the account and associated application records and clears the app's local account state. This does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription. Copies in backups, operational logs, stored files, subscription-provider records, or material previously shared with others may remain after account deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Send requests to our support email. We may need information to verify that a request concerns your account. You may also have the right to contact your local data-protection authority. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information can contact us to request assistance and removal.

Security and changes

We use access controls and secure connections to operate the service, but no storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security. Keep your device and connected Apple or Google account secure.
